Canadian Words You May Not Know or Understand

Hey Hey Hey.. it’s time to fly to Canada, Eh? So what you sayin’ to celebrate?
Confused? My language seemed little different or I may say out of place. Well, well, well, this is you should expect to hear when you reach Canada.
There are few slangs or words that you make yourself familiar with. It is essential or else you will find yourself lost every time someone would speak to you in the abroad. Though the list is endless yet I have tried to chalk out few for your reference. Helloo, you should leave something for on board too ;-)





Eh? - Similar to “huh” or “right?”, the word is pronounced as “ay”.
“what you sayin’?” means “What are you doing?”
Now, do you understand what I was trying to ask you in the beginning?
Unlike here, Canada doesn’t have states rather there are Provinces. So, which province are you going to? And, yes, most of the provinces are too cold in winters, so you must carry a toque (a warm cap) with you all the times. You might like to grab a double-double (coffee with 2 cream and two sugars) or a pop (non-alcoholic soft drink) if you feel like when you have to cover a few clicks (kilometres). When you reach your destination building, you probably would like to take some breath on the chesterfield (sofa) placed at the main floor (ground floor).
A loonie (one dollar coin) or a toonie (two dollar coin) might not serve the purpose when you want gas (petrol) for your car.
Another important term that you must know is canuck which means a canadian, as they feel proud of being called a canuck.
